CSU during union assembly at Zhavame on May 24.

Kohima, May 26 (MExN): The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) convened its 3rd Union Assembly for the tenure 2024-2026 on May 24, 2025 at Zhavame Village. The key agenda of the assembly was regarding its agitation against NHIDCL and EPC contractor M/s Ratna Infra. Project Pvt Ltd for negligence and inaction at NH29 Kohima-Jessami road (Package -II, Chakhabama-Kikruma stretch).
The house reaffirmed to continue its agitation until the demand of the Union is fulfilled. Other agendas discussed were; strict implementation of Inner Line Pass; monitoring of proxy teachers; monitoring of government employees irregularities; restrictions of taxation from the local entrepreneurs, so as to promote entrepreneurship and innovation; and to collect data of Chakhesang culture and traditions for preservation and digital documentation.
The house also deliberated on the issue of teacher shortages within its jurisdiction. Zuketsa Students’ Union came forward to host the 79th General Session of Chakhesang Students’ Union which will be held in the month of February 2026.
Meanwhile, the Union expressed its appreciation to Zhavame Students’ Union for hosting the assembly.
