Kohima, March 3 (MExN): The Chakhesang Students' Union (CSU) has sought the intervention of the Nagaland Governor, La Ganesan, regarding the delayed construction of the Kohima to Jessami Road (Package 2) under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).
In a representation to the Governor, the CSU highlighted that it had earlier submitted a representation to Union Minister for MoRTH, Nitin Gadkari, raising concerns over project delays, lack of proper machinery, and substandard workmanship.
It further pointed out that the vital road infrastructure holds immense significance for the people of the region, ensuring better connectivity, economic growth, and overall development.
However, the ongoing delay and the reported quality issues have caused immense hardships to commuters and residents alike, it added.
Given the urgency of the matter, the CSU requested Ganesan to take up the issue with Gadkari and urge immediate intervention by expediting work to ensure that the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe without further delays.
It also called for the deployment of proper machinery by directing the concerned authorities to provide adequate equipment to facilitate smooth and efficient construction.
The CSU also batted for strict monitoring of the project to uphold the highest standards of construction quality and safety.
The intervention of the Governor’s office will greatly help in addressing these grievances and ensuring that the project is completed in a manner beneficial to the people of Nagaland, the union told the Governor, requesting his support in the pressing matter.
