CTPF reiterates demand for independent SDO (C) in Chessore

Shamator, February 25 (MExN): The Chessore Town Public Forum (CTPF) in Shamator district has reiterated its demand for the posting of an independent Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) (Civil) at the SDO Office in Chessore, citing administrative difficulties and delays in the implementation of government activities.

In a follow-up letter referencing Ref. No. CTPF/S/CS-01/2025 dated September 12, 2025, addressed to the competent authority, the forum stated that the absence of a dedicated administrative officer has been causing significant challenges in implementing developmental activities, conducting construction site surveys and executing various government schemes.

While expressing appreciation for the efforts of Athrong, the current SDO (Civil) in-charge, the letter noted that he has been diligently managing the office despite not holding independent charge.

However, it stated that appointing an officer with independent charge would enable more efficient and effective delivery of administrative services to the public in Chessore Town.

The memorandum pointed out that the present SDO (Civil) is handling dual responsibilities in Shamator and Chessore, making it difficult to effectively manage both administrative offices. The forum reiterated its request for the immediate posting of an SDO (Civil) with independent charge at Chessore, stating that such a move would ensure timely service delivery and boost public welfare in the town.

The letter also underscored the importance of appointing an independent SDO (Civil) in view of the upcoming Census operations. It said a dedicated officer would be crucial for overseeing census-related activities, ensuring accurate data collection and smooth implementation.

The representatives further expressed concern that despite their earlier communication, no response or action has been taken. They said residents of Chessore Town continue to face considerable difficulties in accessing administrative services, particularly during the rainy season when roads are frequently disrupted by landslides.

In light of the situation, the forum urged the authorities to take immediate action and post an independent SDO (Civil) within 15 days from the date of receipt of the letter.
