Coinciding with the premier festival of the Ao community - Moatsu - Eden Academy, Kumlong Ward conducted its Junior Programme Cultural Day at its school premises where the students from different classes presented cultural items which was witnessed the parents and others.
The cultural day is an annual event of the school which is held to showcase the talents of the students to the parents and also to educate the students on the importance of culture and traditions in the society.
To mark the day, the school roped in elders from the society and taught traditional songs and their traditional meanings to the students and the parents. The most important aspect was the presentation of dances and songs by the students much to the pride, satisfaction and enjoyment of the parents.
Eden Academy, located in Kumlong ward, is the only school in Mokokchung town to use the Xseed education programme, which is a proven and research based academic programme for schools that builds thinking skills and problem solving confidence in children. The Academy started function from 2014 and is becoming one of the most popular schools in the town.
