Cultures of Peace 2018: Workshop on social media activism

  Japleen Pasricha, a feminist, activist and entrepreneur who is also founder & editor-in-chief of Feminism in India, an award-winning digital feminist media platform conducted a workshop on social media activism on November 9 at Tetso College.   The activist ran through the tricks and tools of using social media for advocacy and activism.   A hands-on training on how to convey messages to maximize the reach of a campaign in social media platforms through use of graphic posters was imparted to the attendees where the participants were taught on the know-how of Canva app, a free site used for creating social media graphics. She also spoke on ‘writing for social media’.   She also spoke on uses of various tools on social media sites and dwelled on the importance and differences of groups, pages and privacy settings.
