PEREN, MARCH 3 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer for Peren district has promulgated Criminal Procedure Section 144. The order has been in effect at Peren Town from February 27 and in Jalukie Town and Samziuram Village from March 1. The DC informed that the order has been promulgated since “reports have been received that there are chances of post violence in and around Peren which could damage the peace of the area.” The order prohibits assembly of five or more persons; carrying of arms, stones, lathis, etc; and vehicles with more than five persons including driver. The curfew will remain in effect till March 3; however it will not hinder/ restrict polling personnel/ Govt. Officials/ CPMF involved in the conduct of re-poll.
