Agri machinery at the custom hiring centre at Kiyezhe which was inaugurated on September 15.
Kiphire, September 15 (MExN): A custom hiring centre was inaugurated at Kiyezhe village by Ihoilung Chuilo, NCS, EAC Sitimi as special guest today in presence of Dr N Khumdemo Ezung, KVK, Sr scientist, and Lipichem, DPO, LRD and a host of Agri and allied department officials.
Speaking at the inaugural program, Dr Ezung said “we are agrarian based society but we cannot sustain ourselves which is very alarming” and appealed to the gathering to take up agriculture sincerely so as to sustain society. He said that the objective of the district aspiration program is initiating programmes like this and set up centers like this so that the economy of the villagers is improved.
He appealed to the CEO of Orchid FPO, where the machines are, to use the machine in a way that can held Kiphire become a model district.
Dr Khumdemo Ezung, Sr. Scientist, KVK appreciateed the district administration for accepting the proposal put forward by KVK to make this programme successful. Others who spoke on the occassion were Lipichem, DPO, Land Resources; Setsiba, AFA, DAO office; Seroba Sangtam, HEA, DHO office; Lakhum, NEIDA; and Shikako on behalf of the farmers.
The custom centre was implemented by Krishi Vigyan Kendra & district administration funded under aspiration NITI Ayog special grant.
