In pursuance with the directive of the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, Lead District Manager, Lead Bank office Kohima today conducted ‘customer outreach program cum financial literary camp’ here today.
Held at LCS Conference Hall, this programme is part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and celebration of Iconic Week from June 6 to 12.
Speaking on the occasion, H Alpha Pou, Chief Manager, State Level Bankers Committee called upon the youth not to focus on subsidy loan as a priority but to concentrate on availing loans with purpose to prosper.
Pou also encouraged the banking fraternity to focus more in priority sectors to uplift the state economy.
Delivering keynote address, I Moala Ao, Senior Manager Indian Post Payment Bank Kohima branch said that various schemes and projects are being initiated by Government of India for inclusive growth and development.
Sosangmeren M, Lead District Manager, Kohima said that Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a special initiative of Government of India to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence and the glorious history of its peoples culture and achievements.
Stating that various events is being organized throughout the country, he said that Kohima has also been identified among the 75 District in the country to celebrate the launching of the Iconic Week from June 6 to 12.
He said the purpose of Financial Literary Camp is to educate about the banking systems, various digital products and also help in building trust by using simple and easy terminology.
Peter Solo, District Coordinator (Financial Inclusion), Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission talked on 'Credit linkage (SHG).'
The programme witnessed presentation of rewards and recognition for branches, officers, staffs and CSP (Customer Service Point) for their outstanding performance and active role in imparting banking service in Kohima district.
During the programme, Loan ‘Sanction Letters’ have also been handed over to many beneficiaries by various financial institutions in Kohima.
Enrolment of beneficiaries under Jansuraksha Schemes i.e. PMJJBY, PMSBY and APY was also done during the programme.
