CVYS reiterate ban on hunting, fishing, sale of narcotics

DIMAPUR, MAY 31 (MExN): The Chümoukedima Village Youth Society (CVYS) on Wednesday reiterated its resolution on imposition of blanket ban on hunting, fishing, collecting of fodder, firewood and any other activities that endangers or deplete the flora and fauna under their jurisdiction.

 A press release issued by the CVYS has cautioned that defaulters violating the resolution would be sternly dealt with in addition to the imposition of a fine of Rs 1 lakh or more depending on the severity of the act. 

With rampant use and sale of illegal and harmful narcotic drugs on the rise, the CVYS said Chümoukedima village have been declared as ‘Drugs free zone’ and therefore warned of stern action as per the customary law of the village to those involving in the banned narcotics. 

The CVYS also appealed denizens to respect and follow the laid norms and regulations put up, which include, maintaining speed limits, prohibition of underage driving motor vehicles inside the village jurisdiction. It also cautioned against loitering inside the village jurisdiction without genuine reason after 8 pm.
