CWFK alleges women’s death as homicide

Kohima, September 27 (MExN): The Chozubami Welfare Forum Kohima (CWFK) today alleged that the mysterious death of a woman on September 20 at her rented residence in Kohima was a case of homicide. “Post Mortem result as well as police preliminary report have indicated her death is a clear case of homicide,” stated a press release from Jolayi Nienu, President, CWFK.

Considering prima facie evidences against a suspect, a constable, CWFK has presented certain demands to the Senior SP, Kohima – to set up Departmental Enquiry Board/Commission and expedite the investigation process without delay or lapse; immediately discharge the suspect from service without any monetary and pension benefit; and execute exemplary action to prevent similar occurrence amongst law enforcing personnel in future, according to the release.

CWFK also noted that the crime deserves befitting punishment like life imprisonment and the accused should not be released under any circumstances. “In the event of releasing the accused on bail the aggrieved community may be forced to resort to traditional system of ensuring justice, either way on the bailed or the bailer,” it added.

Meanwhile, CWFK appealed to likeminded civil and conscious organizations to extend cooperation and support in its struggle to get justice. It also thanked every individual, group and department who rendered all possible help to the community from day one till date.
