
TUENSANG, FEBRUARY 2 (MExN): The Chang Wedoshi Setshang (Chang Students’ Conference) held its 61st Federal Assembly Session on January 31 where in a number of resolutions were adopted in the interest of the students and the Chang community.
A press release issued by its media cell informed that all the Government Schools within the preview of CWS shall start as scheduled by the Department of School Education and admission shall be done within 10 days of the said. There shall be no admission fee or no other cost shall be charged as per the provision of RTE. The Conference shall also inspect all the schools both government and private, it stated.
The Conference also informed that if any person from other tribe or ethnicity is found working or employed in the name of Chang Naga community, the very person shall be “discharged or disqualified from the service.”
The Backward Tribe (BT) quota reservation for Chang Naga tribe shall be availed/enjoyed only by the one belonging to Chang Naga community by blood as cited in the Government OM Ref No-8/8/79 dated Kohima the 19th January, 1979 No AR-8/8/79 dated Kohima, the 1st June, 2009 and No RCBT-5 (PT-11) dated Kohima, the 11th June 2012 and the same shall be applied to all the Chang students with regard to the perusal of bachelor/degree or any other courses.
As adopted by the august house, no schools in the entire Chang jurisdiction shall be entertained with the practice of proxy teachers. The Conference also resolved to check all the developmental activities and the attendance of the employees in all the Government established offices under its preview. With reference to Government Notification No AR-3/GEN-174/2007 (PT) dated: Kohima, the 17th July 2018 Grade IV job/service shall be given only to indigenous inhabitants on the district.
Led by CWS President Pongsu Chang, all the federating units of the Conference took pledge to fight against drug abuse, it stated.
