
KOHIMA, FEBRUARY 28 (MExN): The Chakhesang Women Society Kohima (CWSK) has expressed strong condemnation over the physical assault of a nursing student at the District Hospital in Dimapur on February 24.
The organization raised concerns about the incident occurring in a healthcare facility, which is typically viewed as a safe environment for individuals seeking medical care. The CWSK stated that the assault reflects the vulnerability of women even in places meant to provide safety and support.
In a condemnation note, the CWSK described the incident as a severe violation of women's dignity, safety, and human rights. The society called for a swift and thorough investigation by the authorities, urging that the perpetrator be punished according to the law to prevent future occurrences. Additionally, the CWSK emphasized the need for safer and more secure workplaces and institutions for women and girls across the state.
