
Phek, April 25 (MExN): Chakhesang Women Welfare Society (CWWS) held its 42nd Annual General Assembly from April 20-22 at Lozaphuhu Baptist Church, Phek.
The resource persons were Kekhwengulo Lea, President, Chakhesang Public Organisation, Akhale Vizol Khamo, Additional Director (HoD), Nagaland Tourism Department, Neikule Doulo, Master Franchise, Aloha Mental Arithmetic, Nagaland. The Gospel Speakers were Dr. Adela Mero, Director, Resource Centre and Dr. Vekutulu L Veyie, Lecturer, BTC Pfutsero.
According to a press release, the speakers and resource persons encouraged the women to strongly focus on sustainability in livelihood intervention, prioritize regular saving habits, maintain consistency in work with visionary perspective, stringent management of time, embrace and respect every Chakhesang dialect and teach the younger generation to adapt “our” culture of honesty, and recognize God’s ownership in every sphere.
Shavanas C, Deputy Commissioner, Phek, who also graced the session, called upon the women to increase agriculture production for marketable level. He assured support to CWWS in agriculture-allied activities.
Imsunaro, DDM, NABARD, Phek, in her short speech stressed on importance of collectivization as groups in order to access better production and marketing capacity and sustainability.
The Assembly also congratulated Vechulo-u Kanuo, Executive Director of CWWS, for receiving the Women Exemplar Award 2018, organized by Confederation of Indian Industries Foundation on April 8, 2018.
