Investigation should be inclusive of all rank and files, time-bound and not individual/community-based
Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): The Chakhesang Youth Front has lauded the Government of Nagaland for undertaking what it termed as “corrective courses in the gross anomalies that have happened in the Education department.” A note from Mudovoyo Vero , president of the Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) stated that no effort should be spared to book the culprits and punishment served to the guilty. “Not only to speak of Education department but the popular government must also initiate suitable measures in other departments which has not done justice to the people,” stated the note.
The CYF stated that the “affirmative action of the government is of paramount importance as our state unlike other states in India is the sole provider of employment to its citizens in the near absence of private sector”. It was of the firm opinion that judicious utilization of government resources was of utmost importance to ensure equitable distribution in the state.
“From what appears from government own admittance of over 2000 bogus teachers’ appointment in the past years raises million dollar questions. Under whose authority were they appointed or for that matter under which division or district are the excess teacher reported”, the CYF stated. Stating that the established rules and procedures of the governments functioning was “hierarchical and decision making process are clearly laid out within the parameters of the rules of the book”, the press note pointed out that any individual without the concurrence of his/her superior under the prescribed rules cannot take unilateral decisions.
The press note stated that the Government constituting Special Investigating Team (SIT) to unearth the whole truth is a welcome measure and believed that the SIT will do justice to the onerous responsibility bestowed on them and that “Selective Investigation Targeting” will not be done in the process. “Fixing responsibility is called for and the whole decision making processes should be viewed at every level and no one individual should be spared. Investigation should be inclusive of all rank and files, time bound and not individual/community based”.
