The Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) has reiterated its stand against the drug menace and any form of public nuisance arising from intoxication.

“We are committed to eradicating these problems from our society, and we believe that through collective efforts, we can effectively address these issues. We do not endorse or engage in any activities that take the law into our own hands,” stated CYF president Vezhoduyi Nakro and general secretary Seve R. Vadeo in a letter addressed to Phek deputy commissioner.

Stating that its primary objective is to work in harmony with the established authorities to make the community a better and safer place for all, CYF informed that they are ready to support the administration and the police in any way possible to combat these challenges and maintain the sanctity of the Phek district.

“As we approach the upcoming festive season, we are aware of the ‘Night Bazaars’ that will be organized at various locations in the district. These events are occasions of joy and celebration for our community, and we wish to ensure that they remain safe and enjoyable for everyone,” it stated.

In this, the CYF requested the administration and the police to remain vigilant during these events and count on the cooperation of all youth units under Chakhesang jurisdiction, including the CYF, as and when required.

Further, CYF expressed its unwavering commitment to working hand-in-hand with the authorities to maintain law and order in Phek district.
