Kiphire, July 17 (MExN): The three-day district level training on DAKSHATA for Medical Officers and nurses of Kiphire district was held on July 12-14 at the Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) conference hall here.
Dr. Bendangla Longkumer, Additional Director, Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland delivered the keynote address. She underscored the importance of antenatal care and appealed to all the pregnant women to avail the services at the nearest health care centre. The DAKSHATA programme, she added, is really going to uplift the quality care to pregnant women.
According to a press release from Atsali T, District Media Officer, CMO office, Kiphire, the District Programme Officer (UIP & RCH), Dr. K. Pewezo Khalo during the training appealed to all the participants to reciprocate to the programme and provide the service at the grassroots level.
Chaired by Ahieto Tase, DPM Kiphire, the programme was facilitated by Dr. Longri Kichu, consultant UNICEF, and DAKSHATA ToTs – Dr. Pewezo Khalo, Dr. TY Apila, (MS), Tsupenthong, Asangla and Lentsothsi. Altogether, 16 participants, including two Medical Officers, attended the training.
