DAN campaigns for Rio

DIMAPUR, APRIL 3 (MExN): DAN partners, NPF, BJP, JD (U) and NCP on Thursday campaigned for its consensus candidate for Lok Sabha elections, Neiphiu Rio, at Burma Camp Colony, Dimapur, with Parliamentary Secretary, Tovihoto Ayemi, as the star campaigner.

Tovihoto said that a tall leader like Rio going to Delhi would benefit not only Nagaland but the entire Northeast. He exuded confidence that Rio would stand for the Nagas and the region in the Parliament. Tovihoto rued that the Prime Minister in his 10 years of office did not visit Nagaland even once to see the development of the state. He appealed the voters to vote in favour of Rio.

State BJP general secretary and spokesperson, James Vizo said that the BJP national executive had resolved to seriously view the Naga issue. He accused the Congress at the centre of stalling developmental projects meant for the state.

JD (U) state president, Mhonjan Lotha also accused the Congress government of ruining the nation’s economy in its 10 years of rule.
Others who spoke during the campaign included NPF state youth wing president, Kakuto, former DMC advisor, Hokuto and former DMC member, D.P. Angami.
