Phek, September 16 (MExN): The Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) under its Morung Project that ensures ‘child rights to education and protection of children from all form of exploitation', has conducted a 'half yearly review and synergy development workshop' at the panchayat hall in Phek village on September 16.
District Child Protection Officer, Phek, Ketobu Vitsu, the resource person spoke on children in need of care and protection and role of the Village level Child Protection Committee (VLCPC). He encouraged the members to work hand in hand with Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and highlighted on the schemes and funds available for the economically poor children. On the system of people indulging in malpractices, he urged the people to do away with it and let the eligible child avail the benefits.
Probation Officer SCPS Ayang, spoke on children in conflict with law. APM Avino Merlin Zao briefed about the organisation and the project. Chaired by Vepichu, secretary, Phek Village Council, 56 people participated in the programme. Vote of thanks was delivered by VCC Kuzhonecho.
