DAN ‘most corrupt, unfit Nagaland Govt’

Leader of the Opposition in Nagaland Legislative assembly, Chingwang Konyak has accused the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) government of being “loop sided” and partisan towards the Naga political problem. This has driven the issue messier, the Congress leader alleged. The Congress addressed a press conference in the committee hall here today after the completion of the fourth session of the 11th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

Chingwang said the DAN government led by the NPF party on assuming power, gave tall promises to the people such solving the Naga political problem within three months; it also promised transparency and accountability, delivering justice and efficient mechanism of the government. But, the Congress, rued, it has been contrary to the people on all fronts.

He said “because of its (DAN) loop-sided and partisan approach, the Naga political issue have become messier and murkier” while also alleging that “solution becomes a mirage under DAN government”. He said goons and criminals are at large, market and the state economy is crumbling; administrative and office system are running at random with corruption prevalent at all  levels.

Chingwang also lamented that criminal cases of kidnapping, abduction, rape, molestation, intimidation, threat, looting, heavy taxes on all commodities, village and town locality taxes, and uninterrupted 25% cut of Government employees salary in all the departments have become common feature. There virtually is no development in Nagaland though the centre has shown generosity in pumping crores of rupees into Nagaland for development activities. The state government however, is investing the funds in nefarious activities, the Congress said. He termed the NPF-led DAN government the most corrupt in the history of Nagaland and blamed the government for leading the state into total crisis.
