Dimapur, February 9 (MExN): National Domestic Workers Movement-Nagaland Region in collaboration with Assisi Centre for Integrated Development (ACID) celebrated ‘Day of Hope’ on February 9 in Assisi Auditorium, Dimapur with the theme, ‘our children, our responsibility.’
“This day is marked to celebrate and bring hope to the hopeless, love to the loveless, care for the uncared, to become voice to those children who are deprived of all this,” Sr. Pramila, Director, ACID shared during the event.
Pikato Tuccu, District Child Protection Unit Officer, the special invitee of the day explained on the importance of the day. He said children have the hope that they will become someone in the society. They need to hope today for better tomorrow.
Reverend Sr Mary Dukru, Coordinator for Social and Health Apostolate of UFS spoke on the parental role towards their children. “Our children are the future and it is our responsibility to protect them and also to fulfill the basic necessities of life. Education plays an important role in molding the children to better citizens,” she said.
A press release issued by Sr. Pramila stated that under ACID, there are 32 such child participation groups in and around Dimapur established with the aim of identifying those children who are deprived of their rights and to promote a platform to bring forth their hidden talents and potentials.
