The respective denominational centres and local churches across Chakhesang area today prayed for unity and intercession for leaders.
This prayer was based on Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) 44th general session resolution on declaration of the year 2026 as “the Year of Unity and Relationship Building among the Chakhesang community.”
As a follow-up to CPO resolution, a consultative meeting between CPO and all the denominational heads in Chakhesang area on April 17 last, stressed for building stronger unity and set 17 May 2026 as a “Day of Prayer for Unity and Intercession for our Leaders.”
Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) Executive Secretary Rev. Dr. Chekrovei Cho-o in his recent letter stated “It is imperative that we continue to pray for peaceful co-existence for the glory of God and for the unity of our community. However, it is proper to set a Sunday of Prayer in our respective denominational Centres and local churches.”
At Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima (CBCK), CPO president Vezuhu Keyho today delivered a short message and called for unity and peaceful coexistence.
The Day of Prayer at CBCK was led by Rev. Khrotso Mero.
The respective denominational centres and local churches across Chakhesang area, prayed for divine intervention for the “healing of our land” reconciliation, unity, and peace among the Chakhesang people at all levels, the prolonged unresolved issues affecting CPO, various Organizations/Associations, Areas, villages, and Church Bodies of the community for early and amicable solution and discerning power for leaders regardless of age and gender for a just society.
It also prayed for National workers to rejuvenate a “true sense of patriotism and the fear of God in service, strength from God to overcome the spirit of ego-centricity, nepotism, and division, shunning of greed, immorality, and falsifying the truth…”
Later, as per the request of the Nagaland Christian Forum (NCF), the believers united in prayer for the prevailing situation in Manipur.
