Kohima, September 22 (MExN): The Lotha Catholic Community observed a day of recollection in preparation for its forthcoming Golden Jubilee celebrations.
The event, held at St Francis De Sales Church, Kohima on September 21, with Rev Fr GL Khing as the speaker, who emphasised the importance of maintaining faith against life's temptations, according to attendees.
Addressing the gathering, Fr Khing stated that a Christian life is measured not by the quantity of works but by the godly lives and actions performed in the name of God.
He urged the community members to remain vigilant to overcome sin and highlighted that love for God and neighbours should be the hallmark of a Christian life. The speaker also elaborated on the seven corporal and spiritual works of mercy.
The programme saw the participation of hundreds of faithful and included the sacrament of reconciliation. It culminated with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
