Kohima, July 20 (MExN): The Literary Club of Don Bosco College Kohima (DBCK) organized an invited talk on July 20 with writer Dr. Easterine Kire as the guest speaker. The Department of English consisting of the 88 students along with four professors from the department attended the programme, informed a press release from the college principal. Dr. Easterine Kire in her address to the students said, “We have so much oral narratives but with oral dying out, it's all going to be lost.” She stressed on the importance of the oral tradition, taboos and native metaphors.
The students interacted with her during the time for interaction. The programme was chaired by Vimenuo Lhough, while Keneipounou Rutsa and Keneigulie read the word of God and prayed for the gathering respectively. The welcome address was delivered Dr. Toshimelathe, Asst. Professor of DBCK. Vote of thanks was proposed by Pelhoulneinou Kiewhuo. The programme concluded with the college anthem, followed by an exhibition of Easterine Kire’s books which were put for sale.
