Tuensang, November 27 (MExN): The first biannual session of the Eastern Nagaland Dobashis’ Union (ENDBU) was held at CKS hall Tuensang Headquarter on November 23.
A press release stated that addressing the gathering, H Haiying Advisor Prisons, Printing & Stationary Nagaland termed the DBs as the guardians of the society and peoples where the identity, order and progress of the peoples should preserved and maintain in order to develop and progress in every aspect in peace and unity. He also urged upon the DBs to uphold the ‘principle and integrity’ for the advancement and development.
Also speaking on the occasion, Advisor DUDA, Bongkhao stressed on the important role of DBs and encouraged the DBs to abide by the rule of law and to strengthen the law and order for the peaceful environment in the regions.
In the second session, the deputy commissioner Tuensang L Jamithung Lotha, spoke on the topic ‘paradigm shift in the role of Dobashis’ with special reference to the judicial intervention’. Other speakers at the programme include president ENPO, T Kekongchim, president CKS Ningsanglemba and president ENGBF Chuba Konyak. Tsithrongto district Hd DB Kiphire, Penlie, PA to DC Mon, Longshen retired Distirct Head DB Longleng, Naset Chingmak PA to DC Tuensang and B Beshim Rtd PA to DC Noklak.
The first session was presided over by Moasenla Chang and Chimkila Yimchunger while invocation was pronounced by president Tuensang town pastors union, Pastor Abemo T Humtsoe.
Keynote address was delivered by president ENDBU, R Muthsodang. Folk songs were presented by Khiamniungan DBs in-charge Chetei DB, Kiphire district DBs, WM Mullong Chang Tuensang & friends. Remembering our past was presented by CCSU, Cultural troupe. Special number was presented by Mon district DBs. Benediction was pronounced by Rev Ngaku pastor DEF Tuensang. Grace with obituary reference was pronounced by Rev Akhum, pastor YBCTT. Special song was presented by DBs Tamlu sub-division Longleng. The programme was attended by various Eastern Nagaland organizations.
