DIMAPUR, JULY 18 (MExN): In continuation of the office order dated May 19, 2015, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) has directed all the Village Council Chairman/GBs and Urban Ward authority/GBs not to collect tax on behalf of any Naga Political Group (NPG) from the residents of villages/wards/colony. The DC also directed the concerned not to deduct any amount from Government fund provided for village development as this is illegal and in total violation of Government rules. “Any local authority found violating this order shall be penalized as per the provision of Village & Tribal Councils Act 1978 and other relevant laws,” the order cautioned.
