Dimapur, November 26 (MExN): The Office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, has issued a circular directing all Heads of Offices (HoOs) to organise and conduct a pledge against child marriage on November 27 within their respective offices and institutions.
The initiative forms part of the Government’s ongoing efforts to promote a Child Marriage Free India (CMFI) society, supported under the “Just Rights for Children” campaign.
According to the circular, the pledge aims to eliminate child marriage through public awareness, community participation, and reaffirming collective responsibility in protecting children and upholding the law.
The pledge ceremony is to be conducted during office hours with the participation of officers and staff. Departments overseeing schools, welfare institutions, police units, and community-level bodies have also been instructed to ensure that the pledge is administered across all subordinate institutions.
As per the State DIPR, All HoOs are required to submit a compliance report to the Deputy Commissioner’s office by November 30.
An official pledge document, enclosed with the circular, emphasised the commitment to actively prevent child marriages, report any attempts to authorities, and advocate for children’s education, safety, and a Child Marriage Free Bharat.
