DC Dimapur talks to Chief of Army on govt patta land

Dimapur, January 20 (DIPR): Major Gen. N. George Chief of Staff 3 Corps Rangapahar gave a courtesy call to DC Dimapur, Maongwati Aier in his office Chamber on January 20.
While interacting with the Chief of staff, DC Dimapur requested the Army unit to hand over the Government patta land to the Civil Administration which the army has occupied at the Block no 1, 7, 8 & 9 in and around Dimapur town at the earliest. DC also requested for passage through Rangapahar Army cantonment of the four (4) lane from Dimapur to Kohima as the four lane has been passing through Khashiram, Aoyimti, Rangapahar, Thahekhu and Sovima village. Aier further requested for assistance through Military Civic Action Plan (MCCP) particularly in the field of sports and recreational activities to facilitate the youth of the state through Dimapur District Sports Council.
Chief of staff Rangapahar, N. George assured DC that the Army Unit, which has occupied the Government patta land in a pocket places at Dimapur would be vacated in a month time as soon as receiving the clearance order from Ministry of Defence. He further assured that as per the availability of the land it will allow the four lanes to pass through Rangapahar Army cantonment and for which due compensation for the land should be made.  He also assured for assistance through Military Civic Action Plan to the local youth in the field of Sports and recreational activities through DDSC.
DC assured that encroachment within Rangapahar cantonment by the public should be properly verified and checked, also there should be no hindrance of the construction of boundary wall in the Rangapahar Army Cantonment.
