Wokha, July 3 (MExN): Citing increasing traffic congestion and frequent obstructions caused by unregulated parking of vehicles along the National Highway passing through Wokha Town, the Deputy Commissioner of Wokha issued a series of directives on July 3.
The directives, dealing with parking, loading/unloading restrictions, and encroachments, will be effective from July 7 until further orders, stated an order issued by DC Wokha, Vineet Kumar.
All concerned departments and the general public have also been directed to adhere to the new regulations in the interest of public convenience, safety, and discipline, it added.
As per the order, violations of the instructions shall attract penalties under relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and the Nagaland Road Safety Rules.
The Police Department, in coordination with the District Administration, District Transport Office, and Town Council, has been directed to strictly enforce the regulations, it added.
