Says IOC working to resolve issue

Kohima, March 17 (MExN): Temporary disruptions in LPG services in Kohima over the past few days were mainly due to server slowdowns caused by increased online traffic, Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B Henok Buchem, said.

Addressing the monthly meeting of the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) Kohima on March 16, he informed that officials from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) have assured that technical teams are working to resolve the issue.

Buchem clarified that most consumers in Kohima are already using digital booking systems, placing the district in a favourable position as the government moves towards 100 per cent digital booking nationwide. Accordingly, he attributed the recent disruptions to increased online traffic, as per the State DIPR.

The DC further stated that educational institutions and hospitals remain exempt from restrictions on commercial LPG supply and should not face shortages.

Referring to concerns raised by hotels and restaurants, he added that the district administration would coordinate with their associations to compile and submit requirements to the authorities for consideration.

In recent past, concerns over LPG has been raised in the wake of the ongoing conflict involving Iran, which has raised apprehensions over global energy supplies, though officials maintained that the situation in Kohima remains stable.
