Kohima, July 18 (DIPR): With a view to beautify and develop the area between Classic Island and Box cutting Junction, Kohima town, the Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor, IAS has banned installation of hoardings/banners/advertisements within the said area with immediate effect and added that all hoardings/advertisements/banners presently installed shall be removed. The order also stated that the area from Classic Island till box cutting junction has been entrusted to Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) to take up aesthetic/beautification works. In this connection, any NGO/Organization willing to voluntarily beautify the area shall henceforth obtain a clearance certificate from the KMC. The DC further stated that the concerned agency cannot claim ownership of the said portion of land basing on this order as it is not a land allotment Order.
