Kohima, October 6 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner & Chairman of District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS has reminded that in accordance with the directives of Government of India (GOI) and in compliance of COPTA 2003 more enforcement raids and checking is to be carried out preferably twice a month with regard to Sections 4, 5, 6 & 7 Under Section 4: Prohibition of Smoking in public place.
Section 5: Prohibition of advertisement of cigarettes and other tobacco products Section 6: (a) Prohibition on sale of Cigarette or other tobacco products to a person below the age of 18 years. (b) Prohibition on sale of tobacco products in an area within a radius of 100 yards of an educational institution. Section 7: Restriction on trade and commerce in and production, supply and distribution of Cigarettes and other tobacco products.
District Nodal Officer (NTCP) Kohima Dr.Arenla Walling stated that in effectively implementation of Section 4 of COTPA 2003 the Kohima District will carry out of enforcement drive under COPTA, 2003 in all places under Kohima district very shortly, she added.
