KOHIMA, AUGUST 7 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Shanavas C, IAS has issued a Restriction Order declaring the premises of the Deputy Commissioner's Office a ‘No Parking Zone.’ The order aims to streamline vehicle parking within the compound.
To facilitate this, car passes will be issued to bonafide government employees working in the associated offices. Effective immediately, entry of vehicles without a Car Pass will be restricted between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on working days. The measure is aimed at curbing the growing number of parked vehicles within the DC Office compound. The order also encourages government employees to carpool, reducing traffic congestion and parking issues.
Car passes will be categorized into three types: Category 1 (Alphabet 'D'): Day Car Pass for Officers and Staff within the DC Office compound; Category 2 (Alphabet 'N'): Night Car Pass for vehicles with night parking permission; and Category 3 (Alphabet 'G'): Guest Car Pass for DPDB members and important officials.
The issuance of car passes, available against nominal printing charges, will be carried out by the Transport Branch at the DC's Office from August 7 to 10 during office hours. All prior parking permits stand canceled, the DC’s order stated.
