Mokokchung, September 7 (MExN): The District Administration of Mokokchung has issued as order on the restrictions on inter-district and intra district commercial passenger vehicles are lined subject to strict compliance of the ‘Consolidated Guidelines’ with immediate effect.
According to the order issued by the Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung Limawabang Jamir the ‘Consolidated Guidelines’ for commercial passenger vehicles are as follows:
• In all passenger taxis, there should not be more than two persons sitting on the middle and rear row seats. In case of rear seats being along the length of the vehicle, not more than one person should sit on each of the rear seat. In the front row seat, there should be only one passenger.
• In all the passenger vehicles both the driver, attendant and the passengers should wear masks. Further, the driver/attendant should make mandatory provision for hand sanitizers for use by the passengers. Only passengers wearing masks must be allowed to travel. The commercial vehicles moving for long distances should be mandatorily cleaned and disinfected before the start of every fresh journey with new passengers. Those moving for short distances will also be disinfected regularly by the drivers/attendants.
• The rate chart annexed with this order for commercial passenger vehicles shall be strictly enforced.
The DC also stated that in addition, all the guidelines for safe practices in high risk settings to prevent transmission of COVID-19, for commercial passenger vehicles and taxis as specified shall he strictly adhered to by all concerned.
The provisions for all commercial passenger vehicles shall be monitored and enforced by a joint team comprising of District Administration, Police and RTO/DTO, he added.
“Any person/group acting in violation of this order shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code,” the DC cautioned.
