Mon, March 13 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner Mon, Wennyei Konyak, has on Friday informed that the 42 Assam Rifles will be conducting ‘firing and explosive’ practice at the Unit Firing Range, Tactical Headquarters Mon, from March 16 to 31 from 7 AM to 7 PM.
A DIPR update stated that loud sound of firing and explosion may be heard in and around Mon Town and adjoining areas during the abovementioned period. In this regard, the public have been advised not to panic, as it is part of the routine training for the Assam Rifles.
Furthermore, residents have also been advised to avoid movement in the vicinity of the firing range/camp during the same period to ensure the safety of children and livestock.
