Mon, March 16 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner of Mon, W Honje Konyak has emphasized on regular attendance of officers in their places of posting and reiterated that quarterly attendance of the DPDB meeting will be reported to respective departments in Kohima. Speaking at the monthly District Planning & Development Board meeting held on March 15 at the DC’s conference hall here, Honje also appealed to the DPDB members to actively participate in the meeting discussions and share their problems.
The Deputy Commissioner also stressed on the coordination meeting of the LADP verification committee members for proper implementation of the LADP project in the district and urged the concerned members and technical wings of various departments to attend the meeting positively whenever notified. He further urged all the heads of offices to identify their respective department’s quarters based on record books and ascertain the position as per the format for necessary action.
EE, PWD (R&B), Er. Talitemsu Jamir highlighted on the progress of the Mon - Namtola road after renovation of the road by the department. He informed that 14 Km plain area road from Namtola to Tekang Bridge has been taken up by the National Highway Authority of India.
Gynecologist of District Hospital Mon, Dr. Supong Meren gave a PowerPoint presentation on Pre-conception & Pre-natal Diagnostic Technique Act (PNDT) 1994. He apprised the board that the Act prohibits sex selection before or after conception, misuse of pre-natal diagnostic techniques for determination of the sex of the fetus and penalties imposed for violation of the Act.
