DC Mon urges to maintain peace through dialogue

Mon, May 22 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner, Mon Wennyei Konyak, visited Tizit and held a co-ordination meeting with GBs, representatives of civil societies and other Government officials at ADC conference hall, Tizit on May 21.

Assessing the present law and order situation and an effort to maintain peaceful relationship with neighbouring state, DC Mon urged the gathering to maintain calm and be rational during any given situation. A DIPR report stated that the DC Mon emphasised on resolving issues through mutual understanding and dialogue with counterparts. He also felt the need to regulate and monitor social media users, stating that unverified information can create or escalate unnecessary tensions. 

During the meeting, he urged the residents of the sub-division to take up various forms of farming, highlighting that region's soil and climate are favourable for cultivating wide variety of crops.

After the meeting, DC along with ADC Mon, ADC Tizit, SP Mon, paid a courtesy visit to Deputy Commissioner of Charaideo, Assam, Dr Neha Yadav, at Sonari and held a short meeting aimed at fostering goodwill between the two neighbouring districts.
