DC Noklak directs on ILP

Noklak, July 25 (MExN): Noting that some village councils or ward authorities are issuing or enforcing Inner Line Permit (ILP) without the mandate or knowledge of the State Government, the Noklak district administration has directed the two entities to refrain such activities.

Deeming such actions as illegal, the Deputy Commissioner Noklak Arikumba pointed out in a circular that the enforcement and regulation of the ILP is an exclusive matter under the jurisdiction of the district administration, as enshrined in the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1873.

Accordingly, the July 24 circular sternly directed all VCs and ward authorities to refrain from engaging in any activities related to the issuance of ILPs or any other related matters, informed the State DIPR.
