DC Peren clarifies viral ‘teacher-student hanging bridge’ photo is 3 years old

Peren, July 7 (MExN): In regard to the recent “viral photo of a teacher and a student crossing a hanging bridge at Mangleu River”, the Deputy Commissioner of Peren, Hiazu Meru has clarified that it “is actually a three-year-old picture.”

According to a DIPR report, chairing the Peren District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting at the DC's conference hall on July 7, the DC and Vice Chairman, DPDB Peren Hiazu Meru stated that the Headmaster of GHS Lilen has already submitted a request for the construction of a bridge. 

Meru informed the house that his office has forwarded this request to the 9th Assam Rifles, recommending the project to be taken up under the Military Civic Action (MCA) initiative. A response from the Assam Rifles is currently awaited. 

In this connection, DC Peren has also requested the DEO, Peren and SDO (C), Ahthibung to submit a comprehensive report on the matter, DIPR report added.
