PEREN, JULY 11 (MExN): The deadline for land allottees in Peren Head Quarter to commence construction has been extended to December 31. This decision follows the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting held on June 14. Deputy Commissioner Peren, Vineet Kumar, IAS, emphasized that any allotments where construction has not started by this new deadline will be canceled. "In pursuance of the DPDB resolution, the date before which construction activity must be started by the allottees has been extended until December 31, 2024.
After this date, cancellations of allotments will be carried out," Kumar announced. This extension aims to provide one last opportunity for the allottees to commence their construction projects. "Despite the lapse of sufficient time, several allottees have not commenced construction at their allotted sites," Kumar noted. "On the other hand, many individuals have shown their willingness and commitment to start construction immediately if allotment is given to them."
The issue of delayed construction was first addressed in the DPDB meeting in April 2023, with an initial deadline set for December 30, 2023, later extended to March 31, 2024. However, with persistent delays, the DPDB decided to grant a final extension. Deputy Commissioner Kumar urged all concerned parties to comply with the new deadline to avoid the cancellation of their land allotments, reinforcing the commitment to developing Peren Head Quarter as a model township.
