DC Tuensang directs pet owners

Tuensang, July 4 (MExN): District Administration Tuensang has taken notice of dogs and domesticated animals venturing into the COVID Hospital Tuensang and rummaging through hospital waste bins and feeding on leftover foods, posing a threat to public health and safety especially in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant IAS has issued an order on July 3 to all pet owners under Tuensang to restrain dogs and domesticated animals so as to prevent their venturing out and possible transmission of COVID-19 and other diseases.  “Failure to comply with the order shall invite strict actions on owners of such animals as per the provisions of Law. This order shall come into force with immediate effect,’ the order stated.
