
Wokha, January 10 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, Wezope Kenye has asked the officers in Wokha to gear up and be ready for the forthcoming town council elections. He said this while cautioning that the beginning of the year will be very trying time because of the forthcoming town council election as there have been differences of opinions coming up regarding the election.
Speaking at the monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting at the DC’s conference hall here, the DC further reminded all the officers to remain in station until the election processes are over. Asserting that all Head of Offices should ensure that all employees remain in station and perform their respective assigned duties, he stated that no exemption of employees deputed for election duty will be done except on medical ground.
Apprising the board members regarding the conduct of Wokha Town Council election, Returning Officer & ADC Wokha, Hotolu Swu informed that all preparation work for the election is in full progress.
During the meeting, distribution of appointment order for the polling personnel was also done. Hotolu also informed that training for the polling personnel will be conducted very soon and urged all employees involved to attend the training positively.
All Head of Offices who have not submitted the details of vehicles (type of vehicle, name of driver and registration number) were requested to submit the same at the earliest.
Distribution of specific work to different departments for the forthcoming Republic Day celebration was also done. The Deputy Commissioner requested all officers to make sure that all officers and staff remain in station and attend the Republic Day celebration and warned that action will be initiated against those absentees. The meeting also resolved to conduct mass social work on January 21 in view of the Republic Day celebration.
