
Zunheboto, November 7 (MExN): With reference to the declaration of “Tobacco Free Zone” with immediate effect in all Government buildings and offices in Zunheboto district on October 25, Deputy Commissioner and Chairman DLCC, Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo in a notification has issued guidelines for implementation of the same.
A board shall be displayed prominently at each entrance of the building and on different wings of each floor, with the following specifications: The board shall be a minimum size of 60 cm * 30 cm; the board shall contain the following warning "use of tobacco in this premise is prohibited and is a punishable offence with fine up to Rs 200/- as per Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) 2003" in English or one Indian language as applicable; The board shall display at the bottom the name and other details of the person(s) to whom a compliant may be made for violation.
Gazette Officer(s) should be identified to whom compliant about violation (s) can be reported and should be authorized to impose and collect the fine against the violation. A challan/receipt book as in Annexure-1 should be used for collection of the fine.
Board (size 120cm *60 cm) as specified below should also be placed at the main entrance of the premises. A box should be placed at each entry gate of the building: any person who possesses any tobacco product shall put the product into the box before entering the premises.
