PEREN, April 1 (MExN): The District Congress Committee Peren took further swipe at the Zeliang People Organisation Nagaland on Friday ridiculing the latter’s claim of being a social organization working for the welfare of people.
“The statement of ZPO (N) claiming to be a social organization working for the rights and welfare of its people was very enlightening,” a counter rejoinder from the DCC Peren stated adding, “If that is really so, the ZPO (N) should also speak up for the rights and welfare of the Tening Sub Division whose roads TR Zeliang left unrepaired/unmade in spite of representing it for 20 years.”
“The ZPO (N) should also speak up for the welfare of Kebai-Khelma area whose roads are repaired every year by the poor villagers with contributions from MGNREGA funds,” it further added.
While stating that it is not against any development programme if it benefits all the citizens of Peren District, the DCC Peren accused the ZPO (N) of being “least bothered” about raising other such issues.
Further accusing TR Zeliang of perpetrating “nepotism, favoritism and corruption”, the DCC Peren advised, “The ZPO (N) should walk out of the shadow of TR Zeliang and cease to be his mouthpiece and raise issues that concern the rights and welfare of the people.”
