Dimapur, June 27 (MExN): Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) extended their gratitude to the Dimapur district administration and the Commissioner of Police for their all out efforts in ensuring smooth and peaceful conduct of ULB elections in Dimapur.
DCCI President, Akashe Zhimomi in a press release said that despite some stray incidents in a couple of polling stations, never has any election in Dimapur being conducted in a more peaceful and free manner than the concluded ULB elections.
“The credit goes to the meticulous planning and preemptive measures taken jointly by the administration and police to ensure that polling was conducted in free and fair manner. This is evident from the fact that no report of violence or major disruption has been reported from any of the sensitive and ultra sensitive polling stations in the district,” DCCI stated.
It added that the well deployed and dedicated police force under the CP Dimapur also made sure the polling in neighbouring districts of Chümoukedima and Niuland went on peacefully. “The business community would like to especially thank the district deputy commissioner and the commissioner of police for the yeoman service rendered and enabling the citizens to exercise their franchise without fear or favour.”
