
Dimapur, November 17 (MExN): The Dimapur Chambers of Commerce (DCCI) at an emergency meeting held Thursday, has unanimously resolved not to entertain any “Christmas donation or collection” from any organization or group. The meeting was held in the backdrop of reported “forceful collection” by various organizations and groups during the festive period Informing about the meeting, DCCI president Hokivi Chishi in a press statement also urged all organizations including students’ unions, churches, civil society and various Naga national groups to uphold the true festive spirit and not engage in collection in any form.
DCCI also appealed to all concerned not to harass the business community through collection and donation in the form of lottery, raffle draw, buffet and calendars etc.
DCCI further asked all business houses and establishments in Dimapur to report to DCCI regarding any collection or Christmas donation by any group or organization.
Meanwhile, DCCI has thanked Home minister, Imkong L Imchen, and DC Dimapur, Hushili Sema, and other administrative officials and Dimapur police, for their assistance and concern shown with regard to the Tuesday night fire incident at East Block Burma Camp.
