DCCI President Hokivi Chishi passes away

Shops asked to remain closed till Saturday noon

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 4 (MExN): President of the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI), H Hokivi Chishi passed away today at Eden Hospital, Dimapur at around 8:50am after a brief illness. He was 51.  

Chishi was born on September 28, 1965 at Saghemi Village under Zunheboto district. The eldest among six siblings, he was elected to the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) in 2013.  

He was also elected President of the New Market Business Owners’ Association (NMBOA) in 2013; served as member of Sematilla Council, Sematilla Fellowship Church and Sunday School Building Construction; Vice President and Treasurer of NPF, Dimapur Division; founding member of the ACAUT movement; Advisor to the Business Association of Nagas; served as President of the Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI); and was Chief Patron for the Dimapur Motot Sports Club.  

He leaves behind his wife, a daughter and two sons. Late Hokivi’s funeral will be held on August 5 at his private residence in Sematilla, Dimapur at 8:00am.  

Meanwhile as a mark of respect, members of DCCI, BAN, NMDA, EDBA, New Market Business Owners Association and Chumukedima Chamber of Commerce have requested business establishments to close their shop in Dimapur till 12:00 Noon on Saturday.
