Wokha, May 18 (MExN): District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Wokha in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Wokha held a sensitisation programme on the new provisions of Juvenile Justice Act, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and the Role of Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU). The participants were Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), Child Welfare Committee, Police, town colony leaders, youth, teachers etc. The resource persons, Lichani Tungoe, Panel Advocate and Neinguvotuo Krose, Legal cum Probation Officer, spoke on the new provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act, POCSO and duties and function of SJPU.
The programme was chaired by Sekho Dawhuo, DCPO Wokha. Opening remark was given by Wonchibeni Patton, Judicial Magistrate First Class and Chairman, Juvenile Justice Board, while closing remark was given by KC Murry, Chairman, Child Welfare Committee followed by discussion hour.
