Zunheboto, November 24 (MExN): The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Zunheboto, Mission Vatsalya, Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland observed the ‘Child Rights Week’ from November 14 to 21, a DIPR report stated.
The DCPU conducted awareness and sensitization program at Satakha, Suruhoto and Zunheboto blocks on the roles and responsibilities of Village Level Child Protection Committee (VLCPC) and legal adoption. The DCPO highlighted that there are two Children Homes and one Observation Home in the district to look after Children in need of care and protection (CNCP) and Juvenile in conflict with law (JCL) respectively.
The DCPO also elaborated on the roles and responsibilities of VLCPC and apprised them to approach the competent authority viz. JJB, CWC, SJPU and DCPU as and when any case arises.
