DDADU President apologises over June 15 incident remarks

Dimapur, June 24 (MExN): The President of the Dimapur District Auto Drivers’ Union (DDADU), Tito Yeptho, has issued a public apology and clarification in connection with the alleged molestation incident that occurred on June 15.

In a statement, the DDADU President offered a “sincere apology and clarification to the victim, the victim’s family, and the community,” if his actions had in any way hurt the sentiments of those affected by the incident.

The apology followed press statements issued by the Western Chakesang Youth Organisation (WCYO) on June 21 and the Chakesang Students’ Union Dimapur (CSUD) on June 24, both addressing concerns related to the incident. Among other points, both organisations criticised what they described as a “one-sided narrative” presented by the DDADU President and demanded a public apology.

Meanwhile, the DDADU President expressed hope that his apology would be “accepted in good faith and in a positive note by the WCYO and CSUD.”
