DDCF asks govt to handle COVID-19 issues with highest caution

DIMAPUR, JUNE 5 (MExN): The Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) has appealed to the Government of Nagaland that all the cases concerning COCID-19 issues should be dealt very sensitively and the highest caution be taken to break the chain of transmission.

This statement came in the backdrop of another bluder by the State Government as a COVID-19 positive patient was sent to Peren from Dimapur “mistakenly” in the same vehicle as other returnees.

A press release from the DDCF stated that “repeated violation of the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) by the government has deeply disheartened the people of Nagaland and the Government is questionable if it was intentionally done.”

It meanwhile stated that even those who had completed the institutional quarantine period needs to be cautiously handled. The DDCF urged the government to ensure that while sending people back to their respective village, transportation needs to be arranged till their village/colony so as to restrict/prevent them from coming into contact directly with their dear and near ones until their community/home quarantine period is over.

This will help further in the prevention of transmission of the COVID-19 pandemic, it added.
